Even (or especially?) during winter a beach and dune walk on Islay can be very nice and refreshing for mind and body. Adam takes us on a walk on the Big Strand near The Machrie, I believe it was at the end of December. Enjoy the video:
I hope this inspires you to get out for a refreshing walk, ideally on an Islay beach, but other locations will do if followed by a dram of Islay malt.
I’ve shared a few kitesurfing videos before I think, but then again certainly I don’t tire of them. Gael (and two humans I believe) recently visit Islay. I’m not sure how much time Gael did get out on the water, certainly the two humans spent quite some time kitesurfing as you can see in this video:
I hope you enjoyed the video as well, there is some whisky in it as well towards the end. Not to mention a few sightings of a distillery soon to be resurrected.
Calum and Jess went for a camping and walking and whisky/gin holiday on Islay. They stayed at Kintra from where they walked out to Soldier’s Rock. They also visited Bruichladdich for the Botanist Gin tour. Enjoy the video:

The video is much shorter than the beach, after all the Big Strand is Islay’s longest beach. But then again the video only covers a small part of it, the part at the southern end, at Kintra, to be precise. And it’s very nice:
PS: Because of the airport it would be impossible to cover the whole beach with a drone anyway.
